my thoughts on the grammys

i can break it down into three catagories:

adele, adele, adele:
she rocked it. seriously, couldn't be more proud of the girl. i've been an adele fan from the beginning because i just think that she's marvelous. she's beautiful, classy and has the most marvelous voice in the whole world. and let's just talk about her british accent. i have this thing for british accents. they're so lovely. anywhooo, i love that she doesn't get involved with stupid hollywood drama and just writes be-au-ti-ful music. her performance last night actually made me cry....i know, i know. but she was just so good! i still can't get over it. after all of the anticipation behind her comeback performance, she really couldn't have been any more perfect. she was on pitch the WHOLE time! and she doesn't need all of the lights and sets. her voice does all of the work for her. that's why she is, in my opinion, more talented than a lot (if not all) of the people who attended the grammys last night. i would probably give my right leg to see her in person.

favorite moments (from top to bottom):
1. adele's performance (naturally)
2. the civil wars opening for t-swizzle!
3. taylor's word change in her song
4. the beach boys reunion with maroon 5 and foster the people
5. bon iver's acceptance speech
6. rihanna's dress. suriously. share some of that with us.
7. coldplay's (and i guess rihanna's too) performance
8. that old guy who sang that one country with that other guy and that other band
9. guiliana rancic's reaction to nikki minaj's getup
10. katy perry's performance. you go gurl.

disappointing moments:
there actually are ony 2 disappointing moments for me. #1, nikki minaj. i will never listen to her music ever again. i think what she did last night was completely offensive and disgusting. i actually couldn't watch all of her performance (and i don't plan to) because it was just so satanic. compare her performance to adele's, and you tell me who the real artist is here. and if this is her trying to one up lady gaga, she failed. miserably. speaking of lady gaga, that brings us to #2 on the list. where in the world was she? i was waiting for her red carpet appearance and performance and didn't get either. i suriously missed that girl this year! i love her long time. after pondering it today at work, i realized that she obviously had reasons for her low-key-ness. hopefully she realized that this night definitely belonged to adele and that her being all cra-cra would just take away from that. good thing nikki didn't get that memo. sicko.
